Arin Joseph Hanson (born: June 1, 1987 (1987-06-01) [age 37][1]), also known by his Internet pseudonym Egoraptor, is a YouTuber and a reoccurring character who appeared in 2018 VidCon Recap as a mentioned character and My Crazy Theatre Teacher as a cameo for a pretty person. He is also an American Internet personality, animator, cartoonist, comedian, voice actor, rapper and songwriter. He is known for his Internet animations, as well as being the co-founder and co-star of the popular YouTube Let's Play (video gaming)|Let's Play webseries Game Grumps and the video game-based parody musical trio Starbomb.[2]

Hanson has created numerous animated web series on his Egoraptor YouTube channel, including The Awesome Series, in which he parodies various video game franchises, including Pokémon, Metal Gear, and Ninja Gaiden, as well as Sequelitis, a series of animated video essays in which he critically and humorously compares the quality of a video game and one of its sequels.[3] He has also voice-acted for various shows and video games. He regularly collaborates with Ninja Sex Party, a musical comedy duo consisting of his Game Grumps and Starbomb partners Dan Avidan and Brian Wecht, providing guest vocals and appearing in their music videos.

He has a total of 470 million views on his YouTube channel and 2.7 million subscribers.

Personal life[]

Arin was born January 6, 1987 in Florida. His father, Lloyd "Paparaptor" Hanson, is a musician. He runs the website Old Farts With Guitars, where he talks about his story with music and occasionally about other members of the Hanson family; Arin made 2 Flash Films (Happy Birthday Dad! and It's Dad's Birthday Again!) as birthday gifts for him. Arin's mother's name is Maurette Hanson. Arin has one brother, Nate, who is an aviator. He is almost exactly three years older than Arin (his birthday is a day before Arin's). He is also said to own a guitar signed by the band Neutral Milk Hotel. He also voiced himself in the Happy Birthday Dad! film. Arin was engaged to Suzy Berhow since Dec. 25th, 2011 and married her on October 25, 2013. Arin named the "Berhow Box" from Metal Gear Awesome after her and made a flash animation where he talks about his love for her.[4]

YouTube History[]

Arin first became famous on the flash animation site Newgrounds, where he is the most subscribed-to user. Before becoming popular on he stated he would never upload his animations on and always keep them on Newgrounds, but he retracted the statement and has uploaded his animations since. He's also known to voice many of the animations he creates and in other animations, having a very talented voice. He has a number of popular series he creates.[5]

Awesome Series[]

A series of short animations which parody popular video games. It's currently his most popular series, getting him the most views. Popular entries include PokeAwesome, Metal Gear Awesome, Awesome Reach and Awesome Gaiden.

An animation series of an anthropomorphic lemon and bullet that travel through various video game worlds.

A collaborative effort with Joshua "TomaMoto" Tomar to make a parody of shonen anime.

A commentary series in which Arin compares a video game and it's sequel with each other.
